The consequences of extreme poverty are the reality of today for many Ixil people. A meal that could save a life, a blanket that keeps a woman and her children warm, or simple shelter from the elements are important and sometimes can’t wait. TRE strives to offer sustainable aid whenever possible and also is ready to support our neighbors when their need is most dire. Here we acknowledge that for many people, the struggle to survive is not abstract but here and now. To look to the future we must also see where we are today.
